Physical therapy, treatment aimed at the recovery of
musculoskeletal function, particularly recovery from joint, tendon, or
ligament repair.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation, a branch of medicine
dealing with restoration of function despite physical disability
Rehabilitation (neuropsychology), therapy aimed at improving
neurologic function that has been lost or diminished by disease or
traumatic injury.
Stroke rehabilitation, the process of recovering from a
stroke.
Vocational rehabilitation, process of helping people
with disabilities (typically Veterans) to find and keep suitable jobs.
Psychiatric rehabilitation, a branch of psychiatry dealing
with restoration of mental health and life skills after mental illness.

substances such as alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs such as
cocaine, heroin or amphetamines.
Rehabilitation engineering, is the application of
engineering sciences to design, develop, adapt, test, evaluate, apply, and
distribute technological solutions to problems confronted by individuals
with disabilities.
Other forms that seem interesting but are not necessarily

Political rehabilitation, the process by which politicians or political
party members who have fallen into disgrace are restored to public life
and Rehabilitation (penology), the rehabilitation of criminal behavior.

A wide variety of people may benefit from occupational therapy, these may

physical, cognitive or psychological limitations following a stroke, brain

accidents
visual, perceptual or cognitive impairments

neurodegenerative movement disorders such as multiple sclerosis,
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease
birth injuries, learning difficulties, or developmental disabilities
mental health difficulties Alzheimer's, schizophrenia, ADHD and

Fetal alcohol syndrome due to central nervous system damage from prenatal
alcohol exposure
developmental disabilities such as autism or cerebral palsy
